Im Marta.
I offer trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirmative psychotherapy for people experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties and neurodiversity (including ADHD, autis, dyslexia), particularly when things feel overwhelming, confusing or hard to hold alone.
I pay close attention to how identity, culture and lived experience shape the way we relate to ourselves and others.
I work online across the UK and internationally in English, Spanish and Italian.
About me and my practice
My background is in education and linguistics, which continues to shape how I work as a therapist. Im particularly interested in how language connects us to our experience, and how, at times, it can also limit or distance us from it.
In therapy, we dont have to rely only on words. Some experiences are difficult to name, unclear, or not yet fully understood. I offer a space where we can explore these at your own pace, including what may feel confusing, overwhelming or hard to express.
Working online can offer a different kind of safety and flexibility, being in your own space, at a distance that can sometimes make it easier to begin. At the same time, we pay close attention to what emerges between us, and how contact, presence and relationship are experienced, even through a screen.
Experience
I have experience working in the NHS within a forensic setting, supporting people with a range of mental health needs, including trauma, anxiety, depression and addiction. I have also worked in mental health charities and with male survivors of sexual abuse.
Working relationally, I am interested in how your current experiences connect to your relationships, environment, history and sense of self. For example, anxiety is rarely just anxiety, it often exists within a wider context that includes relational patterns, life circumstances and internal responses to perceived or real threat.
I also have experience working with neurodivergent clients (including ADHD and dyslexia), exploring how this shapes identity, relationships and the way you experience the world.
In our work together, I pay attention not only to what you bring, but also to what emerges between us in the therapeutic relationship, creating opportunities to explore patterns, feelings and ways of relating in real time.
I offer both short-term therapy focused on a specific issue and longer-term work for deeper exploration.
Qualifications
I hold an MA in Gestalt Psychotherapy from The Gestalt Centre and London Metropolitan University, and I am an accredited member of UK Council for Psychotherapy, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and United Kingdom Association for Gestalt Practitioners.
My work is informed by Gestalt therapy, with additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Family & Systemic Constellations.
